London is frighteningly later this weekend with Halloween parties. It can be a bit tricky to separate the scarily good from the scarily bad. This list will lend a helping hand to All Hallow’s Eve revellers
Tuesday 31 October
Sexy Fish will be celebrating Halloween this year in inimitable style with its Scary Fish party. This will include an eleven-course set menu, a complimentary welcoming cocktail, fire breathers, stilt walkers, burlesque dancers and a DJ set from Jodie Harsh for £165. If you’d rather watch the action from the bar, it’s £45.
Wednesday 25 to Saturday 28 and Tuesday 31 October
Park Chinois tends to pack in punchy performances alongside its captivating Cantonese cuisine, and will be celebrating All Hallow’s Eve with a troupe fantôme putting the spectral in spectacular.
Friday 27 October
Mayfair’s Latin-American themed bar/club/restaurant will be throwing a Mayan jungle themed party on Friday 27 October, with DJ Mary Moon spinning a spine-tingling mix of tribal beats and deep house. Costumes are compulsory, and staff will be dressed as Mayan warriors.
Saturday 28 October
The St Martin’s Lane private members’ club will be bringing the murder mystery straight to the heart of Theatreland with their Cluedo evening, where guests will be invited to don the attire of their favourite character from the board game (or anything scary for that matter). Dinner and party tickets are £59. Party tickets at £29.
Saturday 28 to Tuesday 31 October
If you’d rather participate in your own murder mystery, Berners Tavern will be offering guests the opportunity to host their own personal deathly dinner party from the 28th to 31st October. Whilst enjoying a three-course feasting menu guests will participate in The Final Curtain whodunit. The price is £2,000 which includes dinner.
Recently voted the world’s best bar, Dandelyan will see a collaboration with Mexico’s Licorería Limantour from 27 to 31 October with a new range of cocktails playing with the ideas of preservation, zombification and cheating death.
Tuesday 31 October
Renowned for its Day of the Dead parties, Peruvian restaurant Coya will be moving the theme north of the border with American Horror Story. With murder houses and freak shows, their dialing the creepiness up to eleven. Costumes are obligatory with dinner and drinks from 9pm and guestlist and tables from 11pm.
Friday 3 November
For those who would like to keep the festivities going, head to El Pastor’s Dia De Los Muertos lock-in next Friday. It’s a well-known fact in the industry that the Barrafina boys know how to party. El Pastor founders Sam Hart and Crispin Somerville formerly helmed Mexico City’s El Colmillo in the 90s and Noughties, and will be bringing the club to The Big Smoke on 3rd November. Tickets are £20 and include a welcome drink.
Friday 27 and Tuesday 31 October
The newly launched Scandal nightclub will be hosting a Dead Narcos installation over the weekend. On Friday 27 October, Jason Derulo will be performing, and on Tuesday 31 October, Akon will be taking to the stage. Guest list will be £20 for ladies and £40 for gentlemen. Launched by the minds behind Drama and Cirque le Soir, Reign is going medieval this Halloween with a Reign of Thrones-themed celebration throughout the weekend. Anyone who opts for table service will have to choose which corner they fight, whether they’re on The Wall, with House Lanister, House Stark or House Greyjoy, or on the Iron Throne itself.
