St James’s Hotel and Club collaborates with Purdey and the West London Shooting School this autumn in celebration of an English tradition
The season has well and truly begun to turn here in London, so it’s time to get excited about autumn. One of the most popular pursuits of this time of year is shooting, with game season supported in restaurants across the capital through delicious dishes making the most of the seasonal fare.
To make the most of autumn in London, St James’s Hotel and Club has teamed up with Purdey, leading craftsmen of the world’s best rifles and shotguns, to put together an experience that offers the best of country pursuits without leaving the capital.
In a new package which is available throughout October and November, the hotel will offer a day of shooting at the West London Shooting School, with tutelage from experts, using Purdey’s hand-crafted guns.
This will be followed by a game tasting dinner by William Drabble at the Michelin-starred restaurant Seven Park Place. Being served up on the menu will be grouse, venison, mallard and white truffle in a celebration of British gastronomy.
The day ends with a luxurious overnight stay at St James’s Hotel and Club, where guests will have the opportunity to purchase a handcrafted, feathered hat created in homage to Purdey by milliner Philip Treacy.
