A new benchmark in bespoke nursing care for the golden years at Battersea Park
This November, LifeCare Residences will unveil the Albert Suites – a luxury care facility that will set the benchmark in aged nursing care for London. Situated adjacent to Battersea Park, the 30 exclusive suites are designed to offer an enriched quality of life amidst a discreet and dignified provision of care, tailored to the unique and personal needs of each resident.
Drawing on 35 years’ experience as an internationally renowned provider of outstanding care, The Albert Suites is operated by LifeCare Residences, a company registered with and monitored by the Care Quality Commission.
Residents will enjoy professional care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in the privacy of their own well appointed suite. Each member of the kind and caring staff has been hired as they embody the warmth, care, responsiveness and compassion that define the LifeCare Residences values. All carers offer a safe pair of hands, and are highly trained to manage a breadth of complex care needs and circumstances, ranging from rehabilitation, short-term convalescence and post-operative support, to long-term nursing or palliative care.
Offering an optimised environment for recuperation and rehabilitation, as well as a safe environment designed to manage ongoing medical conditions, the Albert Suites facility has been designed to reassure both residents and their loved ones that all needs, even beyond the realms of care – whether psychological, social, or spiritual – will be met.
Convalescence and post-operative care seeks to make the journey from hospital to the Albert Suites and on to recovery as seamless as possible. The team will proactively manage the ongoing recovery and aim to reduce the risk of complications or hospital readmission.
For long-term conditions, round-the-clock care can be provided by the team, which has expertise in caring for a range of conditions including Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and a variety of respiratory and cardiac conditions.
Palliative care is also fundamental to the offering at the Albert Suites, and the team is trained to assist with pain management, physical symptoms and of course emotional support and wellbeing. For additional peace of mind, the dedicated team is trained within the industry’s Gold Standard Framework.
Founded on a commitment to deliver personalised, responsive and effective care, each new resident at the Albert Suites will receive an in-depth personal assessment prior to admission, which will be reviewed and updated to cater to their needs and in full consultation with them on an ongoing basis. Overseen by a registered nurse, each individualised care plan will be administered by the care team, who work to fulfil the personal preferences of residents and their families. Supervised by a director, and the head of care, each bespoke care plan takes into consideration a resident’s culture, religion and interests, as well as their health requirements.
Traditional nursing care can be complemented by a range of healthcare professionals from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists to dentists, opticians and audiologists. Holistic therapies such as aromatherapy, acupuncture, massage and reflexology can also be arranged.
With a choice of sizes to suit individual needs, each suite has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Featuring high quality furnishings and fittings, including a kitchenette and en-suite bathroom, along with top of the range medical equipment, each suite ensures optimum comfort, and affords a sense of independence and privacy. Each suite comes equipped with a flat screen television, Sky subscription and Wifi access. Residents can, if they desire, personalise their suite with their own furnishings.
Committed to delivering authentic choice, the Albert Suites offers a host of hotel-inspired facilities, from 24-hour room service to a chef-led menu that provides restaurant-plated meals, rich in nutritional value, to a café that offers boutique roasted coffee and refreshments each day. The onsite executive chef works closely with the nursing team to ensure that each resident’s dietary requirements are met. Residents receive ‘silver service’ delivery of medications, with the traditional hospital trolley banished.
A hydro pool and specialist gym will be available to rehabilitation residents, while personalised physiotherapy programmes will help residents to rebuild strength, aiding recovery and wellbeing.
A full-time lifestyle coordinator will be on hand to devise a calendar of activities that meet the needs and reflect the interests of residents. An accessibly-designed minibus will offer regular outings across London and also to tranquil countryside retreats. Residents will enjoy the close proximity of Battersea Park for outings with families and friends.
Richard Davis, LifeCare Residences’ CEO comments: “The Albert Suites at Battersea Place sets a new standard in bespoke, dignified nursing care for London. Offering residents peace of mind that all facets of their care will be accommodated, we aim to build a new-found, enriched quality of life for each person, regardless of their circumstances.
“It’s crucial to highlight the calibre of staff that we have to administer highly complex and sensitive care to our residents in the Albert Suites, each of whom is credited for their personal warmth, empathy and optimism, appreciates the art of anticipation and is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care.”
