A Wardrobe worthy of Colin Firth and Pedro Pascal: dress like a Kingsman at the new Mr Porter shop in St James’s
Mr Porter partnered with director Matthew Vaughn in 2015 to birth Kingsman, a ‘costume to collection’ menswear label inspired by blockbuster of the same name. The dapper selection spans suits, watches and accessories with a focus on British tailoring and collaborations.
The luxury e-tailer has once again partnerd with Vaughn and Twentieth Century Fox for the sequel to this entertaining espionage caper, Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The film reunites actors Colin Firth, Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, alongside A-list newcomers Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum and Elton John. Unlike the first film, which was predominantly set in central London, the sequel sees the Kingsman travel overseas to meet an allied spy organisation in the US, the Statesmen.
Cue a new ‘costume to collection’ showcase from Mr Porter that places pin-sharp British tailoring alongside Western blazers, stetson hats and sumptuous shearling coats, available to try and buy for the very first time at a bricks-and-mortar Mr Porter pop-up shop in St James’s.
The impeccable pop-up boutique is housed next door to the 300-year-old wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd, a location integral to the new film. The authentic space is rife with signature Kingsman gadgets and touch-activated, interactive elements, certain to excite the boy in every man.
Kingsman costume designer Arianne Phillips assisted on the new collection, which includes a vibrant orange smoking jacket worn by Taron Egerton and a Golden Bear varsity jacket emblazoned with ‘Poppy’ – a nod to the Delevingne who also stars on screen alongside Julianne Moore.
Accessories include eyewear from Cutler & Gross; cufflinks by Deakin Francis, notebooks by Smythson and an exclusive Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition watch. The display is grounded by George Cleverley brogues, Adidas sneakers and Lucchese Western boots.
All accessories are available to purchase in-store while clothing can be ordered for next-day delivery.
Mayfair and St James’s local clientele will feel right at home here amongst Savile Row-inspired double breasted suiting and Mackintosh coats. It also caters however for a younger audience seeking sportswear and denim.
“After the first film, we were successful in launching a new luxury brand that translated directly from the screen, and had relevance and resonance in both the fashion and film industries,” said Vaughn. “Now we get to take that experience a step further in opening the Kingsman Shop, and bringing the film’s setting to life for customers and fans alike.”
