We wish shoe a Merry Christmas: footwear designer Lucy Choi partners with St James’s Hotel and Club on a festive installation and shopping package
Shoe designer Lucy Choi has joined forces with five-star boutique hideaway St James’s Hotel and Club in Mayfair on a festive footwear installation. Oversized transparent baubles delicately hang in the centre of the historic hotel’s winding staircase, resplendent with elegant heels in a lustrous colour palette of warm bronze, glistening copper and gold. You can also find Lucy Choi’s designs nestled in the hotel Christmas trees, complemented by gold-dipped foliage, twinkling fairy lights and opulent satin wreathes, festooned with flowers.
Choi's stylish family dynasty includes uncle Jimmy Choo and sister Sandra Choi, creative director for Choo, however the entrepreneurial designer stands on her own two feet (no pun intended). Following a successful career in finance, she honed her skills at French Sole before launching her eponymous footwear label in 2012. Her opulent and playful designs unite exquisite craftsmanship with both comfort and character, spanning ballet pumps, heels and boots.
A girl after our own hearts, Choi is also partial to a gin-based cocktail and has collaborated with St James’s on two festive tipples shaken with either apple and strawberry or lychee and melon. The hotel was recently awarded Classic Cocktail List of the Year at the UK Bar Menu of The Year Awards, so rest assured mixologist Salvatore Maggio can master a martini or three. Sip amid roaring fires, opulent furnishings and figurative artwork within a relaxed, low-key atmosphere.
Set within a grand Victorian townhouse, St James’s is home to Seven Park Place By William Drabble, a pocket-sized Michelin-starred restaurant lauded for its classic French cuisine and fresh British produce. The hotel has also partnered with Choi on an exclusive new shopping package which includes an overnight stay and a discount card to spend at Harrods.
